Theatre Alive is a Non-profit society formed in 1985 "to foster and promote arts in the community of Terrace and to raise funds for R. E. M. Lee Theatre upgrades and enhancesments"
Currently Theatre Alive is in the midst of a large scale fundraising campaign to replace the seats and carpets and to upgrade key performance lighting and sound systems. We are actively trying to raise $400,000
The R.E.M. Lee Theatre is owned and funded by the Coast Mountain School District 82.
The R. E. M. Lee Theatre Alive Society is a completely separate entity from the school board. Theatre Alive works for the benefit of a school district building becasue we understand the importance of this building to the community of Terrace.
YES! Theatre Alive is a Registered Charity and will recognise your contribution to our campaign. Seat Sale contributors will have their names displayed on a display board in the lobby and here on the website.

The R. E. M. Lee Theatre Alive Society was formed in 1985 by then Theatre Manager Tom Walker.
Budget restraints caused by Government funding of schools in general has meant that the Coast Mountain School District Board has not had enough money to keep pace with the need to replace and upgrade necessary equipment.
Theatre Alive was created to fill the gap between keeping the building well maintained and keeping pace with rapidly changing theatre technologies.
With generous community support Theatre Alive has spent over $275,000 on the R. E. M. Lee Theatre since the year 2000. All of it going to upgrade sound and lighting system infrastructure, consoles, instruments, microphones, stage drape, cyclorama, musician chairs, projectors and a myriad of other small upgrades that make our space more welcoming, a better perfomance space, a better venue.
